All licensed lay leaders are warmly invited to a workshop on liturgical leadership and embodiment led by the Rev. Anna Rossi, Vicar at Christ Church Cathedral. The workshop will focus on liturgy as pilgrimage, and moving with presence and intention as an act of worship. Gather in the nave at Christ Church Cathedral from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are encouraged, as we’ll spend time in motion and carrying sacred objects. Accommodations will be made for any with limited mobility.
The Rev. Canon Ingrid Andersen will give an update on the Lay Worship Leader Course and introduce the new Lay Worship Leader Handbook you will receive. We will also have time for sharing experiences and questions as well.
All lay worship leaders are encouraged to join in the opening procession at the 7 p.m. Synod Opening Eucharist. Bring Eucharistic vestments (whatever is customary to wear in your parish) to the training, and we’ll conclude the training with preparations for the evening liturgy. (You do not need to have vestments in order to process – please don’t let this be a barrier.) Those processing should plan to return from their dinner breaks and be vested (if applicable) and in position in the Lady Chapel at 6:30 p.m.
