What happens when something goes wrong?
The bishop, executive officer, diocesan council, along with the canon pastor are responsible for ensuring that the diocese is a safe community. All clergy, lay employees and volunteers (those working in positions that leave room for vulnerability) must sign an affidavit indicating that they have read and promise to abide by the diocesan Respectful Conduct Policy. When a complaint is laid under this policy, the bishop and canon pastor call together an investigative team from amongst the diocesan response team (appointed by diocesan council) and immediate action is taken.
