In order to carry on the work of Synod (the governing body of the diocese) between its sessions, the diocesan council meets a minimum of five times per year.
The diocesan council membership is composed of regionally elected and ex-officio members, plus diocesan executive staff who are non-voting, as is outlined in the Canons and Regulations. It has the powers and functions, where appropriate, of the synod between synods, except for those ac Diocesan Council Members’ Manual.
