Scott McLeod

Coordinator of Online Ministries

Born and raised in Victoria, Scott attended Christ Church Cathedral with his family growing up. He was in the Sunday School, later a server at the altar, in youth groups, BC(Y)AYM and involved in many other activities in and out of the church. In high school Scott discovered the wonders of such things as motorcycles and Jazz music. Music has always been and continues to be a big part of Scott’s life.. After high school, Scott went to Toronto to study music at the University of Toronto, specializing in Jazz music. While in Toronto, he started to explore a potential call to ministry, and after much discernment, thought, and prayer, enrolled at the Vancouver School of Theology. While a student there, Scott preached his first sermon at CCC for Theological Education Sunday. While studying at VST, Scott spent a summer in Barkerville portraying the Rev. James Reynard, reenacting the 1800’s, but also leading services daily. This also provided an opportunity to ride up the interior and tour around on a motorcycle. While at VST Scott also had the opportunity to take an internship for a summer in Seychells in the Indian Ocean, through the national Anglican Church, and an opportunity to bring some youth and young adults to Guatemala to experience solidarity and development work. Returning to Victoria in 2005 Scott was ordained in June, and started his curacy at St. Mary’s Oak Bay. In 2007 he became rector at All Saints, View Royal. In 2010 he was given the opportunity to participate in the 3Saints Team Ministry project. Scott has also been acting as coordinator for the diocesan refugee sponsorship program, sits as the Bishop’s representative on the board of Threshold Housing Society. Scott is married to Su, and they have their first son Theo, and a dog, Feasgar. Scott is enjoying being a father and husband and continues to ride, play music, and be involved in ministry in and outside the church. He has been told on occasion that he doesn’t fit the mould. Whatever that is.
