The Canon Pastor is responsible for administering the diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy and the Screening in Faith Policy. She provides “Safe Church” trainings and works with the Diocesan Response Team (DRT) in response to crises which may occur within the Diocese. She also works with a policy review team to ensure our Safe Church policies are effective and up to date. Marion reports directly to the Bishop and the Executive Officer. The position of Canon Pastor is a 3-year appointment for 10 hours per week.
Marion holds a Master's degree in Dispute Resolution. Marion is currently the Executive Director for PEERS Victoria, a street outreach program and resource centre for sex workers. She is the past Executive Director for Threshold Housing Society, an Anglican social housing program for homeless youth. In 2011, she served as one of two accredited Anglican Church of Canada observers at the UN Commission for the Status of Women.
Marion is committed to fostering safe sanctuaries in the community.
