Incumbent, Parish of Central Saanich

Incumbent, Parish of Central Saanich

The bishop of the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia seeks a full-time incumbent for the Parish of Central Saanich.

Our diocese is on an exciting journey as we seek to become renewed people with renewed hearts and renewed spirits.

The Parish of Central Saanich includes the communities of Saanichton, Brentwood Bay, and Keating in the municipality of Central Saanich. The beautiful semi-rural Saanich Peninsula is located 21 kilometres north of British Columbia’s capital, Victoria on Southern Vancouver Island.

St. Stephen was built in 1862 on land donated by an early pioneer, and is the oldest Anglican church in continuous use, in the same building and location in British Columbia. To accommodate the growth of the congregation a second church (St. Mary) was built at Saanichton in 1893. The combined parish roll includes 300 parishioners.

Each congregation has its own Mission Statement, but together we have adopted “Faith—Family—Friendship” as our “Why Statement” which expresses our reason for being as a parish in this time and place.

We have embraced our diocesan vision to be a reconciling community, particularly in our relationships with the First Peoples of this island. We value a balanced and light-hearted approach to work and worship and want to be an inclusive community where joy and love thrive. We seek to reach out and within, deepening our faith story, reflecting Christ to all we meet.

If your priestly vocation aligns with where God seems to be leading us, and you are ready to join us in being a place where Faith—Family—Friendship are the core values, we want to hear from you.
